Weymouth is an attractive resort with a Blue Flag beach that is ideal for safe bathing. Weymouth has a picturesque harbour where fishing trips and excursions can be taken by motorboat. There are a number of attractions for all ages including the Weymouth Museum and Time Walk, the Sea Life Park with marine displays, golf, bowls and bird watching plus pubs and restaurants. The town has a departure point for day trips to St. Malo, Guernsey, Jersey and France. Weymouth also played a key role in the D-Day Invasion when 516,000 U.S troops left these ports for Normandy.
